Although we just launched the "97 Things Every Software Architect Should Know" project to the public we are already receiving great contributions from new members. Timothy High contributed the first axiom that has been approved for the book, "Challenge assumptions - especially your own." It is an excellent example of the type of content we want to share on the 97 things web site.It turns out that Timothy has already authored his own set of axioms, or what he calls commandments, which he posted on his blog. He calls them the "7 Architecture Commandments" - they are an excellent read! He has already contributed two of them to the 97 Things project, which is wonderful.
If the new contributions (eight of them so far) we have recieved are indidictiave of the kind of content that will be contributed from the wild, than I'm more enthusasitic than ever about this project. The wisdom of so many people gathered in a single place on a single subject. This is what collaborative works are all about!
